Sheffield is David Linacre’s home, and there is nowhere he would rather entertain. A member of The Magic Circle, David brings astonishing close-up magic to weddings, parties and corporate events right across Sheffield and South Yorkshire.
His magic happens inches from your guests, in their own hands, with no stage and no set-up. It is the kind of entertainment that has a room laughing, gasping and talking long after the night is over.

Born and raised in Sheffield, David began performing professionally at just sixteen, around the year 2000, and built his early career here in South Yorkshire through the 2000s. He spent around a decade in Leeds from 2009 before returning home to Sheffield in 2019. Over 25 years on, with over 150 five-star reviews and a place in the prestigious Magic Circle, he is one of the region’s most sought-after close-up magicians.

From grand rooms like Tapton Hall to celebrations around Kelham Island, private parties in Dore and charity galas across the city, David has performed all over Sheffield. It is also where his love of magic first took hold, as a boy putting on shows for his family and growing up glued to the Paul Daniels Magic Show on Saturday nights. His career began here too, with an early residency at the Republic, later the legendary Gatecrasher One, and performances for the likes of Sheffield City Council and the Sheffield Star. He has performed at Sheffield United’s Bramhall Lane stadium, at the Crucible for the World Snooker Championship, and at many of the city’s hotels such as St Paul’s in the Peace Gardens.
